The Rum Sidecar!

The classic Sidecar is made with cognac. Sidecars can be made with various alcohols. I love rum for my sidecar. Rum is the perfect spirit to be mixed with Cointreau and lemon juice. As a result of the combination of the three ingredients, the Sidecar is slightly sweet, tart, and refreshing at the same time.

Ingredients Rum Sidecar
1 oz rum
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

If you want to balance your Sidecar and prefer tasting all the flavors of the ingredients, I recommend adding 1/2 oz filtered water.

Garnish
Lemon peel

Glass
Martini glass

Combine all ingredients with ice in a shaker and shake until chilled, about 20 seconds. The Sidecar will be served in a Martini glass without ice. Therefore, the ingredients need to cool down well while shaking. Strain into a Martini glass. Twist the peel over the glass. Rub the peel on the rim of the glass for extra flavor. Drop the peel into the glass as a garnish.

Enjoy the classic Rum Sidecar!
