French 75: A Refreshing Twist on Champagne Cocktails
Initially, I was never a fan of champagne cocktails. To me, champagne—like a fine beer—was perfect as it is, and I questioned why anyone would want to alter such a delightful drink. This cocktail transformed my perspective, showcasing how gin, sugar, and freshly squeezed lemon juice can create a harmonious balance, allowing each element to shine.
The French 75 offers a sophisticated start to an evening without the overwhelming sweetness often found in other champagne cocktails. It’s deceptively easy to drink, but be warned: it packs a punch! One or two of these delightful cocktails can set the stage for a fun day or night filled with good food and great company.
