Banana Jam!

Easy, sweet, and incredibly tasty homemade Banana Jam! This delightful jam is perfect on toast, ice cream, and sandwiches, and of course on our homemade brioche. Truly a fabulous topping for anything sweet! Banana Jam is a delicious fruit preserve that’s simple for anyone to make. Fresh bananas combined with lime juice, sugar, and water, finished with a kick of dark rum and vanilla extract.

Ingredients Banana Jam
3 large bananas
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 lime, freshly squeezed
1/4 tsp sea salt
1 tbsp dark rum
1 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions Banana Jam
Combine the 3 bananas, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 2 tbsp of brown sugar in a medium-sized pot. Mash with a fork until the fruit is chunky and the sugar is syrupy. Add the juice from the freshly squeezed lime and 1/4 tsp of sea salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook steadily for about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once the jam has slightly thickened, remove from the heat and stir in 1 tbsp of dark rum and 1 tbsp of vanilla extract. Transfer the hot jam to a jar and let it cool in the fridge.
