The story

Good hospitality starts long before the first plate reaches the table.

Olaf Kohrsmeyer is a seasoned hospitality professional with more than two decades of experience in food and beverage. A graduate of the Business School of Economics for Hotel and Restaurant Management, his career spans international and local establishments and includes restaurant management experience in Miami.

That experience taught him that a memorable evening is rarely about extravagance. It is about thoughtful details, generous flavors, and creating the kind of atmosphere where people want to stay a little longer.

The philosophy

“The kitchen is the heart of the home. The table is where we share it.”

Olaf created The Lion Chef to inspire home cooks to embrace both the art of cooking and the joy of gathering. Home-cooked meals can be more intimate, creative, and meaningful than dining out—and they give every host the freedom to make an evening entirely their own.

A world of influence

Every journey leaves something at the table.

Travel across the Caribbean, Latin America, and beyond shaped Olaf’s understanding of food as a language of connection—from busy street markets to neighborhood restaurants where local stories are shared over a meal.

Along the way, he explored the histories and traditions behind rum, tequila, coffee, and regional ingredients. Those experiences now surface throughout The Lion Chef’s recipes and cocktails.

Olaf personally photographed the images in Entertain With Flavor — The Master Plan. His love of photography turns each recipe into more than instructions: a visual invitation to notice color, texture, presentation, and the character of every drink and dish.

The same magazine-inspired point of view now shapes The Lion Chef online.
